Vet Care

Details
So ask yourself, how often do you go each year to the doctor, eye doctor or dentist for a check-up? Once, twice, none? Do you answer yourself maybe with saying, maybe more than I should? Well it's the same thing for your Husky. You want one or two visits each year for that normal check-up.

When you first adopt a Husky, take him with-in 30 days to your Vet. I call this the Meet and Greet. Your vet should do the basic physical exam but also put your dog on Heartworm Preventative. What is Heartworm Preventative? It's those nasty worms that live in the blood of a dog and in the end look like spaghetti in the heart. Not a good sign and definitely a death sentence for your Husky if you leave untreated for a few years.

Required by law in each State, you must have the following annual vaccinations for your Husky:

Each year you should have the following done at your vet's office as well to ensure your Husky remain's in good health

  • Heartworm Test
  • Heartworm Preventative (a must to do)
  • Worming Test for Tape, Wip and Hook worms
  • Lyme's Disease
    • Because of the abundance/over-population of deer, deer ticks seem to be more common now carrying the Lyme's disease. So having this done, doesn't hurt your Husky, but can further prevent unexpected health problems.
