Husky's have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to eating. They don't like to have their diet changed as this can cause them stress, allergic reactions and of course the unpleasant soft stools or liquid diarrhea.
If you must change their food, the first step is getting a 25lb bag of the food that you currently have your husky on and a 25 lb bag of the new food your switching their food to. The best way to switch them to the new food is the 25% rule. Every 5 days, give them 25% more of the new food, 25% less of the old.
For example for a dog that eats 4 cups: Week 1: 3 cups of old, 1 cup new Week 2: 2 cups of old, 2 cups new Week 3: 1 cup old and 3 cups new Week 4: 4 cups new food |

If you notice their stool getting irregular, add a week to their current schedule for the food amounts your giving. This will help ease their stomach. Remember, if you rush this, you'll end up with a unpleasant mess in the end. |
