Eggdrop Installation

 (unix commands are underlined)

• Log in to your shell account
• Type menu

• Select which installation you would like

• cd ~your_login_name; cd eggdrop
• pico eggdrop.conf

RULES for running eggdrop

NO eggdrop may be running without having this option/placement in the config file. Please modify your config file to have this.

Type cat /etc/virtualip and pick a IP address at random

This:
#set my-ip "99.99.0.0"

Turns into this:
set my-ip "to_the_one_IP_I_picked_at_random"

Any eggdrop running on this server will not consume more then 12% cpu for a 15 minute interval. If eggdrop process runs continuously like that and is not fixed by the end user, user will be limited by processes run and put in the restricted shell group.

Any eggdrop causing irc network problems will loose eggdrop privileges to this shell, when and if another administrator emails this system regarding the abuse. The email can ONLY come from another administrator and not a ordinary end user. If the problems are serious enough, at the administrator(s) discretion, the account maybe terminated. If any damages are caused to another users system, you are held liable for all damages including mine, my isps, and the user who was attacked.
